Travelling from north to south, touching islands too, there is such a multitude of places worth a visit! Among these, Piedmont should not be missed out with its enchanting places: Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero and Monferrato... visitors are spoilt for choice!

A walk through the itineraries of Barolo

Whether you are a food and wine enthusiast or an art lover, the area of Barolo is a must see. Walking through the hills of Barolo one can admire stunning works of art, such as the colourful Chapel of Barolo decorated by Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett. In the early 1900s The Chapel was a simple and little church built as a shelter for farmers during adverse weather; around the 1970s the building became a property of the Ceretto family but remained in a progressive state of abandonment until the two artists, in 1999, brought it back to life with their unique and colourful decoration.

Another place not to miss is the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, former home of the Count Camillo Benso of Cavour who lived in the premises for 17 years, besides serving as mayor of the town that hosts the Castle. Needless to say, the surrounding landscape is strongly evocative of this historical period.

Certainly, one cannot live the country without visiting the historical cellars and indulge in a taste of the famous Barolo wine!

Barbaresco, what to see

What to see in Barbaresco? Visiting the small village of Barbaresco, that counts less than 700 inhabitants, you can discover an authentic corner of Piedmont. Walking through the narrow lanes, often populated with traditional stalls, you can taste and purchase a variety of food and wine products, including those made with truffles, one of the flagships of Piedmont. The Tower of Barbaresco deserves a special mention too: built in the 11th century, it was part of a complex system of defensive fortifications set on a sandstone base, it’s 36 meters high.

Monferrato, what to see

If you find yourself in Monferrato wondering what to see, you will not be disappointed as many are the options. From the Castle of Camino nestled in a park of century-old trees and now turned in a lux B&B to the many works of Land Art, among which the famous Big Benches, giant benches you can climb and recall childhood while admiring the panoramas beyond.

Ask Diwine Tour and visit wineries and quaint villages of Monferrato!

REQUEST INFO

<img class="vce-single-image" width="800" height="530"src="https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/diwine-1-gennaio-800x530.jpg" srcset="https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/diwine-1-gennaio-320x212.jpg 320w,https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/diwine-1-gennaio-480x318.jpg 480w,https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/diwine-1-gennaio-800x530.jpg 800w,https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/diwine-1-gennaio-800x530.jpg 800w" data-img-src="https://www.diwinetour.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/diwine-1-gennaio.jpg" alt="posti da visitare in piemonte" title="diwine-1-gennaio"/>

Travelling from north to south Places to visit in Piedmont It is well known, Italy is beautiful everywhere one goes, however, some places are just unique for their Natural heritage.
